The music is brilliant, but what I love most about this record is her storytelling. Like any good short-story writer, she has the ability to draw you into her narratives with just the briefest glimpse of the bigger picture. "Two brown dogs came out running cross the highway, panting and low to the ground."

This is a fab album. There are strong echoes of UK psych and sunshine pop - the songwriting and vocals remind me of the bands associated with John Pantry - high praise indeed (do grab a copy of 'the Upsidedown World of... if you haven't heard it). The Zombies and the Kinks are in there too, as well as more recent bands like Green Pajamas. The band keep it simple, which is a bonus with a psych-inflected album - they let the wonderful songwriting shine through. Buy this, pop pickers!
